About the Courses
B.Com. (Hons.)
The B.Com (Hons.) course is a flagship course of University of Delhi. This course seeks to enhance the knowledge base and practical skills in all the areas of business to enable the students to handle basic business tasks. The course also provides strong foundation to pursue higher courses in business education. It is an integrated course which offers a competitive edge to the students in the wake of changing economic scenario. The course was restructured by the University of Delhi in the year 2004-05 including a greater input on Information Technology.
B.Com. (Pass)
The college offers a foundation course in commerce viz. B.Com. (Pass). It seeks to equip the students with practical and vocational skills to exploit dynamic opportunities offered by the business environment. This course prepares the students to take up entry-level jobs in various sectors of trade, commerce and industry. After the completion of the course, a number of specialised professional courses may be pursued.
B.A. (Hons.) Economics
The college offers an under-graduate degree course in economics. It is a highly prestigious course. The course offers the combination of scholastic and practical approach in the field of economic decision making and research. This course is a stepping stone for higher education in economics and other related areas. The course aims to provide to the basic knowledge domain in order to meet the ever changing demands of our economic environment.
B.A. (Hons.) in Business Economics (B.B.E.)
The college has been running B.B.E. course since 1996. The demand for business economics has increased tremendously particularly in the corporate sector, research and business. A number of big industrial houses are employing business economists. B.B.E. is a course in applied economics. In order to sharpen essential skills in marketing and communication, the students undergo corporate summer training for about eight weeks, to get a better understanding of business environment and real organisational problems. A separate department (Department of Business Economics) has been entrusted with teaching and other responsibilities of the course. The students of B.B.E. have access to a number of facilities which include a computer lab, a modern library, seminar rooms.
Selection of students is on the basis of a joint entrance examination conducted by the South Delhi Campus, University of Delhi. The centralised University application form along with the bulletin of information can be collected from the college administration office.
B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computer Science
The growth of the Indian IT industry has led to an increased demand for computer professionals. In the wake of rapid changes in technology, the University of Delhi has restructured the B.I.T. course as B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computer Science. The course imparts the theoretical and programming skills to take up professional positions in the industry.
The course was introduced in our college in the year 2004-05. All the semesters till now have proved to be a great success. A number of activities are organised by the department of computer science from time to time. It organizes industrial trips and workshops on practical implementation of computer hardware and digital equipments. Recently the computer lab has been renovated. The college has purchased 27 pentium (P IV) systems, 3 laser printers and 57 UPS.
Post-Graduate Diploma in International Marketing (PGDIM)
Ours is the first college under Delhi University to run the PGDIM course. The programme structure, teaching methodology and industry interaction with focus on behaviourial skills and global orientation have been the key features of this course. The emphasis is on enhancing an understanding of the prevailing business environment, for effective decision making. Besides lectures, an extensive use of case studies, management games and stimulation exercises enable, the students to acquire skills expected of them.

Diploma
in Business Journalism and Corporate Communication (DBJCC)
The one year, full time, post graduate diploma programme viz. Diploma in Business Journalism and Corporate Communication, is an innovative course which aims to impart the core contents of the public relations (PR), Advertising, Corporate Communication, Print and Electronic Media etc. to our students. Our consistent endeavour is to provide quality education and practical training to the young aspirants with a view to channelise their youthful energy leading them towards excellent communication skills not only in the field of views, cyber journalism, mass media, but also in public relations and image building in the corporate sector.

Add-on
Courses
The college proposes to offer a short term certificate course in Computer-aided Business Practices to the students enrolled in the college. This is an add-on courses to be pursued in the afternoon session (with a duration of approximately four months) along with the main under-graduate programme.
The prescribed forms for the course will be available to the enrolled college students at a later date to be notified by the college. |
